The Weimar Republic tried to establish some order in Germany after the 1st world war. The idea was good but the logistics was its downfall. For starters the constitution was located in Weimar and that wasn't the nations capital to begin with so it made things very difficult for it to function. Its biggest limiting factor however was that it stood for the treaty of Versailles. At that time they were the only people in the whole of Germany that thought the treaty was a good idea. So since its location was bad and the values didn't make sense to the German people it was never going to work. Mussolini didn't have a lot of trouble making his way to the top Italy's government system. He organized a march on rome on March 1923 and took the city by force. He hired Black shirts and used them as his force. They were basically mindless thugs that carried out orders for him. He even had the king scared, scared enough that the king wouldn't sign emergency legislation to prevent his rise to power. Some even said that he supported Mussolini.
