The movie "Cinderella Man" starts in the 1920's and ends in the 1930's. The film starts of by showing how exciting the 20's was by showing how rich and successful everyone was. The opening scenes are all about the happy days of the U.S and how excited everyone was when the First World War ended. The economy was booming and literally everyone had jobs. However the film quickly turns for the worst as the main character goes from living in a mansion to being stuffed into a shack with his family. It got to the point where the family couldn't even pay for milk or electric. James J Braddock, the main character, had to end up going to the boxing committee and beg for money. It just goes to show how fast things can go from good to bad. Or it does at least for people at the time of the great depression. The film also shows the great Hooverville that is located in the middle of New York. There was literally slums in the middle of the city and people had to fight to survive everyday. The great depression was easily the worst the American economy has ever been.
