-Many people feel the government's constitution was its downfall
-The government believed in following the Treaty of Versailles and the people didn't want any part of the treaty. They believed they had been hard done by and was looking for a change.
- Weimar Republic introduced Hyperinflation
-Used to repay reparations, caused a lot of people to be unemployed
-Workers refused to work in the Ruhr region
-Led to French Occupation of region in 1923

- Spartakist Uprising, started in 1919 by Karl Liebknecht and Rosa Luxemburg.
- Tried to take over Berlin in January 1919, brutally put down by the Freikorps.
