The movie "Life is Beautiful" takes place in Italy just before the outbreak of the holocaust during the second World War. Guido Orefice (the main character of the film) is an inspiration in the way that he finds joy and happiness in everything he does in his life. He protects the innocents of the time by being as positive as he can and make light of any situation. The best example of that is with his wife and kids. Everything he did made them happy. He was even able to convince Joshua (his little kid) that the Holocaust is simply a game, and they must win it to leave. Or how he talked over the intercom at the camp with Joshua just so his wife could hear him. There wasn't a lot of positive things about the Holocaust, but the story of Guido Orefice definitely brought light to the situation.
